Rollover crash on I-635 kills 60-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man
A 60-year-old man died early Tuesday when the car he was driving at high speeds crashed and rolled numerous times.
The Kansas Highway Patrol identified the man as Kevin M. Fisk of Kansas City, Kan.
A 35-year-old Olathe man who was a passenger in the car suffered disabling injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The crash occurred about 2:25 a.m. Tuesday along Interstate 635 near Kansas 5.
Fisk was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Diamante south on I-635 at high speeds, according to a preliminary crash report from the Kansas Highway Patrol.
As the road curved to the right, Fisk over-corrected and went off the right side of the road and crash, rolling his car numerous times, according to the crash report.
Fisk, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, according to the crash report.
His passenger was taken to the hospital. It was unknown whether he was searing a seat belt.
The crash closed parts of southbound I-635 for several hours as authorities investigated. All lanes of the highway reopened about 6:40 a.m.
