Northland bank robbed

A man on Thursday used a threat of weapon to steal an undisclosed amount of money from a Kansas City, North bank, according to federal authorities.

The hold up occurred about noon at the Bank of the West branch in the 5200 block of Northwest 64th Street. According to initial reports, the man handed a teller a note that demanded money. He indicated he was armed but did not brandish a weapon. He fled on foot in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported and the robbery remains under investigation.

The robber is described as a black man, dressed in a black stocking cap, black coat and wearing dark sunglasses.
