Woman who got out of moving vehicle in KCK run over, dies

A woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in Kansas City, Kan., when she stepped from a moving vehicle and was run over, the Kansas Turnpike Authority reported.

The woman was identified as 52-year-old Deborah Lynn Kloster. Her city of residence was not released.

The incident occurred about 12:20 p.m. Wednesday at Interstate 635 and Interstate 70.

According to the authority’s incident report, Kloster was a passenger in a pickup truck that was entering eastbound I-70 from southbound Interstate 635 when she intentionally got out and was run over by one of its rear tires.

The driver of the truck, a 71-year-old Kansas City, Kan., man was not injured.
