Victim identified in KCK highway shooting

Authorities have identified a man who died Monday following on a Kansas highway shooting as 30 year-old Oscar Sanchez-Escamilla of Kansas City, Kan.

The shooting reportedly occurred near Interstates 635 and 70. Sanchez-Escamilla and another victim drove themselves to the University of Kansas Hospital about 3:35 a.m. following the incident. Police said the shooting does not appear to be connected to about 20 other highway shooting that have occurred in the area since early March.

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (474-8477).
