Vehicle soars into woods, killing driver

A 37-year-old driver died Thursday morning when his vehicle went airborne into a wooded area in Kansas City, North.

Police said the victim, Charles Dilley III, 37, was eastbound at a high rate of speed on Northeast 72nd Street about 5:30 a.m. when he failed to heed the stop sign at North Brighton Avenue. The woods were just beyond the T intersection there.

Dilley, of Kansas City, died at the scene. He was alone in the vehicle and was wearing his seat belt.
