Man’s death in downtown parking garage believed to be suicide

Kansas City police believe a 50-year-old man found dead in his car trunk in a parking garage last week committed suicide.

He lived alone in the lofts near the parking garage where he was found in the 600 block of Central Street. He had recently divorced, police said.

His 12-year-old son found the body while searching his father’s car Friday afternoon. The victim had not been seen for several days.

Police found a suicide note. The Star normally doesn’t report on suicides unless they occur in a public place.
