FAA investigators examine airplane crash in Lee’s Summit
Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration arrived in Lee’s Summit Monday to investigate the crash of a Cessna 210 airplane.
The plane crashed Sunday evening in the 1500 block of Northeast Blackwell Road, in a field at the eastern edge of Legacy Park. The park is about four miles from the Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport.
Two men, believed to be in their 20s or 30s, were taken to a hospital.
The passenger was seriously injured and the pilot suffered minor injuries.
FAA investigators arrived at the crash site about 7:45 a.m. Monday.
The plane, acacording to the FAA’s aircraft registry, is registered to Mar-Tech Engineering. Mar-Tech is a division of ControlCam, which is headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla.
The plane was headed to Lee’s Summit Municipal Airport from Jacksonville Executive at Craig Airport in Florida, according to the website
