Victim identified in fatal train incident in Johnson County
Authorities have identified a man struck and killed by a train in Johnson County as a resident of South Dakota.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said that 52-year-old William E. Gainey of Yankton was struck about 6 p.m. Tuesday on the tracks at U.S. 56 and Moonlight Road.
The patrol said that Gainey was trying to “beat” the train when he was struck.
