Prosecutors accuse man in KC stabbing, neck slashing
Jackson County prosecutors accused a 22-year-old man of stabbing another man and slashing his neck in a fight last week.
The 27-year-old victim must undergo additional surgery for complications from the stabbing about 3:30 a.m. Thursday near 35th Street and Mersington Avenue. He sustained wounds to his neck, shoulder and rib-area, police said.
Police were called to a large outside disturbance at the intersection. When officers arrived, the victim collapsed in front of them. Police saw a large cut to his neck and immediately called for an ambulance. Meanwhile, the suspect fled.
Police arrested Terry H. Taylor on Monday. Jackson County prosecutors charged him with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. He remained in jail Tuesday in lieu of a $100,000 cash-only bond.
