Nick Cannon criticized for his ‘whiteface’ Instagram photo

Nick Cannon may be a comedian, but we’re not sure whether his latest stunt is funny or offensive.

The actor/musician/host/husband to Mariah Carey posted this photo on Instagram on Monday to bring attention to his latest album, “White People Party Music.”

“It’s official... I’m White!!!” Cannon said in the caption, along with a slew of hashtags. “... #GoodCredit #DogKissing #BeerPong #FarmersMarkets #FistPumping #CreamCheeseEating #RacialDraft.”

After commenters took offense to Cannon’s “whiteface,” he posted another photo with the caption “Duuuude everybody Chil-lax!!!!" and gave himself a new name to match his new race: Connor Smallnut.

Although some found it funny, other commenters claimed Cannon’s posts were racist and done in bad taste.

“White People Party Music” is set to hit stores April 1.

If only it were an April Fool’s joke.
