On the way, for free: Chvrches, Broods and others

The annual Afentra’s Prom, sponsored by radio station 96.5 FM the Buzz comes to the Midland on April 25, a Friday and will feature four bands: Chvrches, Broods, Meg Meyers and the Architects.

The 18-and-older event is free; no tickets will be issued. However, formal attire is required.

Chvrches is an electronic/synth-pop trio from Scotland. Broods are an electronic-pop duo from New Zealand with a vibe similar to Everything But the Girl. Myers is a singer/songwriter from Nashville whose gothic sound swings from pop to rock. The Architects are a Kansas City band with a furious sound that is pure, stripped-down rock.
