Woman killed in Cass County accident

A Springfield, Mo., woman was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Thursday morning in rural Cass County near Pleasant Hill.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Ashley R. Martin, 21, was driving east on Route P at Roush Road at 6:30 a.m. when she crossed the center line, over-corrected and left the roadway. Her 2008 Pontiac overturned, struck a fence and rolled into a pond. Martin, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.
