Little girl vs. grown man chasing ball at Royals game: Man wins
We are going to give this guy the benefit of the doubt, otherwise wed have to dump all over him for mowing down a little girl as they both chased after a ball at a Royals spring training game on Monday.
has the tale of the run-in that occurred during the bottom of the seventh inning during the Royals-Rangers game.
Billy Butler smashed one to deep centerfield. A guy named Allan Mount went running after it, but so did a little girl. As Mount was looking up for the ball, he plowed right into her, knocking her to the ground.
The irony? The ball didnt even make it over the fence.
Mount posted a TV clip of the incident on YouTube and Reddit, where he wound up defending himself.
I understand the safety concern here but it's funny that the only people lecturing me about this were nowhere near the event, he wrote.
The girl, her parents, and all the surrounding fans were laughing about it. I guess the carefree spirit of a spring training game doesn't translate well into video!
