Meeting Monday on Route Y upgrades in Belton area

The Missouri Department of Transportation is planning to widen the shoulders and make other improvements on five miles of Route Y from Cambridge Road to Route YY, and residents in the Belton area can hear about the plans at an open house Monday.

The meeting will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Heartland Christian Academy, 810 S. Cedar St., Belton. No formal presentation will be made, so residents can come and go when it's convenient.

MoDOT expects to start the $1.7 million project in 2015.
