Shawnee savings and loan robbed
A savings and loan in Shawnee was robbed about 3:40 p.m. Monday.
Authorities said a gunman entered the Capitol Federal Savings branch at 5700 Nieman Road, demanded money and brandished a handgun. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and placed it in a white plastic grocery bag before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.
A white mask covered the robber’s face. He was described as being about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 170 pounds. He wore a gray or black hooded sweatshirt, a blue jacket and denim jeans.
