Bonner Springs payday loan business robbed

Authorities on Monday released surveillance camera photos from a weekend robbery at a Bonner Springs business.

The robbery occurred about 2:50 p.m. Saturday at Advance America in the 600 block of Tulip Drive.

A clerk told police that a man who came in to ask about a payday loan pulled out a handgun and told her he was sorry, according to the Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect ordered her to lock the front door then forced her to open a safe. He told the woman to go into the bathroom and count to 60. He told her that if she left the bathroom before that he would shoot her. She complied and the suspect fled.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
