Father charged with abuse of Kansas City baby

A 20-year-old man has been charged with abusing his infant daughter, who was hospitalized Wednesday with several broken bones.

Toddgric T. Ross was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court with a felony count of abuse or neglect of a child.

The baby, who is almost 3 months old, was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital, where doctors discovered she had a broken rib, a broken leg and bruising around one eye.

When questioned by police, Ross allegedly said he had squeezed his daughter out of frustration because she would not go to sleep. He said he did not “mess” with the girl’s head or leg, according to court documents.

Prosecutors requested he be held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
