Emergency repairs narrow I-70 across Lewis and Clark Viaduct to one lane

Missouri transportation officials closed two eastbound lanes of the Lewis and Clark Viaduct on Thursday afternoon for emergency repairs on expansion joints.

They urged motorists to find other routes during the repair work, which was expected to last into the peak of the afternoon rush hour.

Officials expected the work to reduce eastbound Interstate 70 lanes from three lanes to one lane for at least two hours, Missouri Department of Transportation officials said in a news release.

MoDOT crews will return later to complete permanent repairs, the release said.
