Platte authorities investigate possible homicide in rural house

A 56-year-old man was found dead Tuesday in what the Platte County Sheriff’s Department was calling a possible homicide.

A 59-year-old relative of the dead man was being questioned as a person of interest in the case. Neither was named by authorities, who also did not say how the man died.

Officials were called twice on Tuesday to a house in the 18000 block of Interurban Road, a rural area northeast of Platte City. The first call was before 2 p.m. and the second just after 3 p.m. On the second call officials found the man dead.
