‘The Bachelor’ diamond engagement ring: What happened to it?
Overlooked in all the drama of Monday night’s finale of “The Bachelor” was that spectacular Neil Lane diamond ring that Juan Pablo had in his pocket for Nikki Ferrell.
By now we all know that Nikki got a rose but no ring.
So, uh, where’s the ring?
People magazine reports that the show’s producers – not Mr. “I Like You a Lot” – has it.
“If a proposal doesn’t occur on the show, the show holds on to the ring. If Juan Pablo decides to propose in the near future, the ring would be his for the asking. But much further down the line? It's unclear whether or not he'd still have access to it,” a source tells the magazine.
More’s the pity, because even in a quick on-screen glimpse, you could tell the ring was gorgeous.
It had a 3.5-carat cushion-cut diamond set in platinum and encrusted with 240 smaller round diamonds, according to Lane, who custom designed the ring.
Lane, a favorite jeweler among celebrities, told People that when he met with Juan Pablo in St. Lucia, the bachelor was “very focused about picking out a ring.
“He was talking to me like a guy who is about to propose would talk, and he seemed to take it very seriously.”
Lane said that Juan Pablo appeared to be a man in love who had found the right woman. “He did not give a hint that he didn't have that certainty about the woman he was choosing,” he told People.
“When I left him, he seemed prepared to propose. There were other Bachelors over the years, like Jake Pavelka, who seemed less certain or who might have been struggling. Juan Pablo was not that way.”
So what happened then?
We bet Nikki would like to know that, too.
