Falling tree branch injures Jackson County employee

A Jackson County employee was injured Tuesday morning when a tree branch fell on the employee’s head.

The Public Works Department employee was trimming trees in the area of Colbern and Stillhouse roads southeast of Grain Valley when the incident happened about 9:15 a.m., according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. The branch was about 8 inches in diameter.

“The employee was conscious and transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital with what is described as a non-life-threatening injury,” the office said in a written release.
