March 15Brookside St. Patrick’s Day Warmup Parade:

The theme is “Shamrock Shenanigans,” 2 p.m., starting at 65th and Wornall, going north on Wornall to 63rd Street, east on 63rd to Main, south on Main to Meyer Boulevard, then west on Meyer to Brookside Boulevard, Kansas City. Free.

Lee’s Summit Emerald Isle Parade:

The theme is “Puttin’ on the Green.” Parade runs from noon to 2 p.m.; it lines up at Lee’s Summit High School, then heads to Southeast Eighth Street onto Southeast Green Street. It ends at the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church. Festivities include a traditional Irish breakfast at Mingle from 8 to 11 a.m., a Blarney brew off from 11 a.m. to noon at Mingle, a downtown pub crawl following the parade, downtown Lee’s Summit on Southeast Main Street.

Belton St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

Parade starts at 5 p.m. at Hackberry and Main Street, continues on Main to Cherry, then left to Second Street and back to Hackberry.

St. Pat Oldies but Goodies Dance:

Prize offered for best costume. Dinner included. Proceeds to benefit Fiesta Hispana. 7-11 p.m., Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1310 Westport Road, Kansas City. $14 individuals, $25 couples. 913-927-2466.

Independence St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

Parade runs from 3 to 4 p.m. It starts at the Jackson County Shrine Club at 120 1/2 Pleasant St.

March 16Martin City St. Patrick’s Parade:

This year’s theme is “Hard Hats and Green Barrels.” Parade entries $40, 2-4 p.m., 135th from Washington to Holmes. Free. 816-308-1023 or manager@martincity.org.

Martin City St. Patricks’s Best Dressed Dog Contest:

March 17The 42nd Annual Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in midtown, Broadway from Linwood to 43rd Street. Frank White will be the grand marshal. Children’s activities will be available in the park across from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at 43rd and Broadway.

37th Annual Blue Springs “Shortest and Smallest” St. Patrick’s Day Parade:

The parade will begin at 9 a.m. The route of the parade, the same as it was when it started in 1978, begins at 1112 W. Main in Clay Donna Swope’s Soda Fountain and ends directly across the street at Tom Cooper’s “The Keg.” The length is 66 feet as measured by former city engineer Oliver DeGrate. Pre-parade festivities begin at 8 a.m. with coffee, donuts and conversation at the Soda Fountain, and Cooper will again open The Keg a few hours early. The honorary grand marshal will be Vernon McGuire, whose whose mother served as the first grand marshal in 1983. Vernon will be joined by “Official Paraders” Pat Meyer, Bill Whitley and Jim Wallace.
