Body at Park Place in Leawood was suicide

A man whose body was discovered early Sunday afternoon at a Leawood shopping center committed suicide, authorities said.

“There was no foul play,” said Corp. Chris Vaughn of the Leawood police.

Authorities responded to an area of Park Place just outside a parking garage near West 117th and Ash streets, near the the California Pizza Kitchen, about 12:30 p.m.

The person’s name has not been released.

The Star generally does not report on suicides, except when they occur in public areas or involve well-known people.
