Homeless man found beaten in Kansas City
Kansas City police are investigating after a homeless man was found beaten and incoherent Saturday night near 9th Street and Highland Avenue.
The victim appeared intoxicated when officers found him near the intersection about 10 p.m. He was bloody, but could not explain what happened to him.
He was about three blocks away from Independence Avenue, where homeless people are known to wander and hang out, police said. The victim could have been headed to a homeless shelter, which is about six blocks away.
Detectives on Sunday planned to interview him at the hospital, where he was taken for treatment.
