Body of 44-year-old Lawrence resident found near Kansas River

Volunteers doing clean up Saturday in a wooded area along the Kansas River in Lawrence found a body.

Police identified the deceased only as a 44-year-old Lawrence resident. The discovery was made near 7th Street and New Jersey.

There was no sign of foul play. An autopsy has been scheduled.
