Police cite two Olathe drinking establishments for furnishing alcohol to minors

Olathe police went bar-to-bar Friday night to check if establishments were making sure patrons were old enough to drink alcohol.

Out of 60 establishments, 58 complied by asking for identification showing proof of age. The two establishments that did not comply were cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor and given municipal court dates.

The investigation was conducted by the department’s school resource officer unit.
