Man charged with arson in Overland Park apartment fire
A 21-year-old man was charged Friday with aggravated arson with a risk of bodily harm after allegedly starting a fire in the hallway outside his Overland Park apartment on Thursday.
Tyler Lee Washington is also charged with battery for allegedly scuffling with other residents who tried to put the fire out just before 4 a.m. at 9117 Nieman Road. The residents were able to extinguish the flames.
Washington was in the Johnson County jail Friday with bond set at $100,000.
