Motorcycle crash kills woman in Leavenworth County

The Kansas Highway Patrol said a fatality occurred Friday night when a motorcycle eastbound on Highway K32 left the road in Leavenworth County and ended up in a grassy ditch.

Officers said Dawn Michelle Caruthers, 48, of Baldwin City, the passenger, was killed. The driver, Steven L. Harris, 45, of Baldwin City, was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

The patrol report said neither person wore a helmet.
