Taxi driver found shot in Kansas City street

Kansas City police responding to a disturbance call in the 1800 block of Highland about 5:30 a.m. Saturday found a shooting victim in the street.

The victim was identified as a taxi driver, a black male about 50 years old. He was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

Witness told police there was a disturbance and the driver was shot, but no description of a suspect or a motive was available Saturday morning. Police ask anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816.474.8477.
