Multiple-vehicle crash ties up traffic on the north side of KC’s downtown loop

A multiple-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer during Thursday morning’s rush hour tied up traffic on the north side of Kansas City’s downtown loop.

The crash occurred about 7:50 a.m. on northbound Interstates 29/35 just before Front Street.

Two ambulances were sent to the wreck. The extent of the injuries were not immediately available.

The crash caused a large backup for traffic moving through the northeast side of the downtown loop as well as traffic headed across the Bond Bridge.

Only one lane was squeezing past the wreck.
