Richmond man dies when vehicle overturns in water

A 25-year-old Richmond, Mo., man was killed Friday when his vehicle overturned and was submerged in a water-filled culvert.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Gerren B. Loman was southbound on Long Lake Road at 84th Street in Ray County when his 1998 Ford Taurus went off the right side of the road and struck a drain culvert. The vehicle overturned and came to rest three-quarters submerged in water.

A passerby saw the wreck at 10 a.m. and called police. Loman was wearing a seatbelt.
