Gardner Edgerton superintendent, two other school officials fired

The Gardner Edgerton Board of Education voted 4-3 Thursday to fire the superintendent and two other top administrators.

The board held a closed session at a specially called meeting and then voted in open session. Gardneredge.com reported that Superintendent Bill Gilhaus was fired along with Lana Gerber, executive director of human resources and administrative services, and Christy Ziegler, executive director of educational services.

Scott Boden, husband of board member Tresa Boden, was at the meeting and confirmed the action. He said there was no explanation.

Along with Boden, board members Brad Chandler, Mary Nelson and Rob Shippy voted for the firings.
