AG Eric Holder hospitalized after faintness

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was taken to a Washington Hospital today after experiencing faintness and shortness of breath during a meeting with his staff, the Justice Department said.

“He is currently resting comfortably and in good condition,” the department said in a statement. “He is alert and conversing with his doctors.”

Holder, 63, experienced the symptoms during his regular morning meeting with senior staff, the statement said.

Holder has been attorney general since President Barack Obama first took office in 2009.
