Missouri woman charged with letting friends cook meth in vacationing neighbors' home

Police say a St. Louis County woman let her friends cook meth in the home of vacationing neighbors who had asked her to watch their cat.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 34-year-old Laura F. Stephens is charged with felony property damage in a case that involves more than $37,000 in cleaning costs.

She reportedly allowed two men and a woman to use the home while her neighbors were away. She was jailed on a $20,000 bond.

A spokesman for the county prosecutor's office says Stephens is the only one of the four people to be charged because of conflicting stories among the suspects.
