Taking aim at McDonald’s, Taco Bell rolls out Waffle Taco on new breakfast menu
Taco Bell is getting into the breakfast game with a menu true to its roots: Introducing the Waffle Taco.
It’s just what it sounds like – a waffle wrapped around a sausage patty or bacon with scrambled eggs and cheese. It comes with a side of syrup.
The breakfast taco will star on Taco Bell’s new breakfast menu debuting nationwide on March 27. Taco Bell fans enthusiastically spread the news on Twitter Monday.
Woo hoo! Now they can eat every meal of the day at Taco Bell!
“March 27th. Taco Bell breakfast. My life changes.”Taco Bell enters the crowded fast-food breakfast field with food items designed to appeal to its fan base of young dudes.
Other new items include the A.M. Crunchwrap – a flour tortilla wrapped around scrambled eggs, hash browns, cheese and meat – and a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast burrito.
Taco Bell officials who announced the menu on Monday made no secret that they’re making a run at the Egg McMuffin folks, McDonald’s, the leader in fast-food breakfasts.
In fact, Taco Bell will offer its breakfast until 11 a.m., 30 minutes longer than McDonald’s serves its morning meal.
No word on the nutrition information of that waffle whopper, er, taco.
