Two 16-year-old boys held in Platte County High School burglary

Juvenile authorities have accused a pair of 16-year-old boys of burglary, property damage and stealing for breaking into the Platte County High School, stealing computer equipment and causing extensive damage early Monday.

The boys, whose names have not been released, are being held until a hearing on Friday.

During the break-in, two intruders climbed onto the school’s roof and broke through a computer lab window. They flipped over items and smashed windows and computer monitors. They stole laptop computers and other items. Police estimated the damages at $40,000 to $50,000.
