Original Devo member Bob Casale dies
took to the band’s Facebook page
with a brief tribute:
As an original member of Devo, Bob Casale was there in the trenches with me from the beginning. He was my level-headed brother, a solid performer and talented audio engineer, always giving more than he got. His sudden death from conditions that lead to heart failure came as a total shock to us all.The band had been enjoying a career renaissance in recent years, with a string of live shows and a new album “Something for Everybody” in 2010 reaching audiences that weren’t even alive during their 1970s and ‘80s heyday.
This is the second tragedy to his the Devo camp in recent months. Longtime drummer Alan Myers died in June of last year at age 58.
