Chiefs re-sign tight end Richard Gordon to one-year deal

The Chiefs recently re-signed tight end Richard Gordon to a one-year deal with a base salary worth $645,0000, according to NFL Players’ Association records.

Gordon, who is listed at 6 feet 4 and 268 pounds, caught one pass for three yards after joining the Chiefs last December. After playing three special-teams snaps in his Chiefs debut against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16, Gordon logged a season-high 17 snaps in the Chiefs’ regular-season finale against the San Diego Chargers. Gordon, however, was inactive in their first-round playoff loss to the Colts.

For his career, Gordon has caught four passes for 14 yards and a touchdown.

Gordon, a fourth-year pro who played at the University of Miami, was taken in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders.

He joins Anthony Fasano, Travis Kelce and Sean McGrath, Demetrius Harris and Dominique Jones as the only tight ends on the roster.
