Kansas City’s high might rise above freezing for first time in nearly 2 weeks

It’s been a while coming, but Kansas City might get above freezing for the first time in nearly two weeks.

With light winds coming from the south Wednesday, highs are expected to reach up to 36 degrees in the Kansas City area, according to the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Mo.

The last time Kansas City International Airport was above the freezing point was 8 p.m. Jan. 30.

A gradual warming is expected to continue into the weekend across the Kansas City region, with highs reaching in the upper 30s to mid-40s on Thursday, mid-20s to mid-40s on Friday and low 30s to low 50s on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
