Homemade firework found during Kansas City, North, car stop
The Kansas City police bomb squad disabled a homemade explosive device found inside a truck Tuesday morning in Kansas City, North.
Officers discovered the device, described as a large firework, after pulling the vehicle’s driver over at 80th Street and North Broadway Avenue about 9 a.m. Tuesday. The woman driving the truck was arrested on a felony warrant from Buchanan County, Mo., police said.
A male passenger, who was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, told officers that he had made the firework. Streets around the area were blocked off while bomb squad members rendered the device inoperable.
