Kansas City, Kan., firefighters battling fire at trucking repair company

No one was injured when a fire broke out at a Kansas City, Kan., truck repair company Friday afternoon.

A safety officer with the Kansas City, Kan., Fire Department noticed heavy smoke coming from the business at 1032 S. 26th St. about 12:30 p.m. and called dispatchers to report the fire.

The safety officer went to investigate and discovered that all the doors of the business were locked, but the employees’ cars were outside.

When firefighters arrived, they forced their way into the building and started attacking the fire. Workers had been working on the cab of a large truck prior to lunch and some how it caught fire.

The fire caused tires on a second vehicle to explode.

Firefighters learned that all of the employees were out of the building at the time of the fire.

The fire caused an estimated $100,000 in damages.
