Miss Kansas Theresa Vail gets back to her deer-hunting roots and lands a trophy

• WHAT: Sponsored by the Kansas City Chapter of Safari Club International, the Hunter’s Expo is a celebration of hunting. It includes exhibits by gun makers, outfitters, hunting destinations and well-known outdoors companies; seminars, banquets, auctions and raffles.

• WHEN-WHERE: Friday through Sunday at the Overland Park Convention Center.

• HOURS: 1-8 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday.

• FEAURES: Theresa Vail, Miss Kansas, will appear at the Youth Wildlife Education and Conservation Day from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday. She also will be the main speaker at the banquet and auction Saturday night.
