Fatal KC fire was accidental, police say
Investigators have determined that a house fire that left a Kansas City woman dead early Sunday was accidental.
Although some family members of the victim wondered whether foul play had been involved, the death is not being investigated as a homicide, police spokeswoman Marisa Barnes said Tuesday.
Firefighters responded to the fire near East 72nd Street and Park Avenue about 3:30 a.m. Authorities have yet to identify the woman who died in the blaze.
