Shooting critically wounds man at east KC apartments

Police are investigating a shooting that critically wounded a man at the Stonegate Meadows apartment complex near 43rd Street and Pittman Road on the eastern edge of Kansas City.

Police were called at 5:30 p.m. to the 10400 block of East 42nd Street and found the victim, in his mid-20s, in the grass near the clubhouse. Witnesses said they heard shots and saw a man running from the area.
