Woman suffers severe cut when hit by thrown glass at KC tavern
Kansas City police are looking for a woman who threw a drink glass and severely cut another woman’s face inside a tavern early Thursday.
The 22-year-old victim told police she was headed to the restroom inside Lafferty’s Lounge at 6301 Blue Parkway when the attacker walked up to her and threw the glass. The victim said she did not know the suspect and had no confrontation with her prior to the 1:40 a.m. attack.
The suspect ran out the back door, got into the driver’s seat of a silver Chevrolet Camaro and sped away, blowing through a red light, police said. Officers tried to chase the Camaro but could not catch up. Officers later found it abandoned.
The victim, who was bleeding from the head and face, needed stitches to close her wounds, according to police reports. Medical staff told police she would need at least five stitches, but they did not specify the exact number.
