Community Blood Center makes urgent call for donations

The Community Blood Center is asking for extra blood donations now and over the next few weeks to make up for a critically low supply.

Since late December, chilly weather and the flu have kept donors from giving, the blood center said.

Donors must be at least 16 years of age, weigh a minimum of 115 pounds and be in good health.
