Leonard Jones chosen as Grandview mayor

By a 6-0 vote Tuesday night, the Grandview Board of Aldermen selected Alderman Leonard Jones to serve as the city’s mayor until the April election.

The previous mayor, Steve Dennis, resigned abruptly earlier this month. It was later revealed that the FBI has been asking questions about Dennis and a nonprofit organization he formed.

Voters will decide April 8 on who will serve out the rest of Dennis’ term, which expires in April 2015. The filing deadline is Feb. 12.
