KC man convicted in 2013 killing

A Jackson County judge has convicted a Kansas City man of voluntary manslaughter for killing James Ward on May 26, 2013, prosecutors announced Friday.

Antoine L. Clark, 32, had argued with Ward early that evening, demanding that Ward return a firearm he purportedly had stolen. After the two began scuffling, Clark drew a handgun from his waistband and shot Ward multiple times, including while he was on the ground, witnesses reported to police.

Police later arrested Clark in Overland Park. On his cell phone investigators found an Internet search made about nine hours after the shooting. According to court records, the search asked, “What gets gun dust out (of) your skin?”
