Weekend gets off to a cold start, but highs could reach 60 Sunday

The weekend is getting off to a chilly start Friday, but hang in there because warmer weather is on the way.

The temperature dropped to 17 degrees Friday morning, but it felt closer to zero degrees because of the wind, according to the National Weather Service.

High’s Fridays will be in the lower 20s to lower 30s.

It will be gusty too, with winds coming out of the northwest at 15 to 20 mph. That will keep wind chill values in the teens, according to the National Weather Service.

The warming trend will start Saturday, as highs will reach into the upper 30s to near 50 degrees. It will remain breezy Saturday.

There’s a chance of rain or snow showers across central Missouri.

But on Sunday, the highs will climb to near 60 degrees in Kansas City.
