Kansas woman sentenced to prison in fatal drug overdose
The 2011 drug overdose death of a Garnett, Kan., man led Thursday to a five-year prison sentence for an Edgerton woman.
Stacy Ashley, 37, had pleaded guilty earlier to one count of distributing a prescription painkiller, to her nephew, Joshua Auclair, on July 30, 2011.
Auclair, 20, died in Garnett the next day after crushing up and snorting several pills he had obtained from Ashley and his mother, Tammy Redel.
Redel has pleaded guilty in the case and awaits sentencing.
